Variable step size of shared error NLMS algorithm for acoustic echo and noise canceller

(in English) In this paper, we propose a variable step size of a shared-error NLMS (SENLMS) algorithm for an acoustic echo and noise canceller (AENC). The AENC consists of an acoustic echo canceller (AEC) and an adaptive noise canceller (ANC) of which filter coefficients are updated to minimize the mean square value of the shared error signal. However, this system should update two adaptive filters and both AEC and ANC diverges when the AEC or ANC is misadjusted. To avoid divergence, we derive the constraint of the step size parameters and obtain the update equations of the variable step size parameters. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system achieves avoiding the divergence and reducing the acoustic echo and background noise.
