| (in English) | DNS-Based Authentication of Named Entities (DANE) is a mechanism for validating server certificates without rely- ing on a Certification Authority (CA) by using TLSA records that contain server certificate information. One of the reasons why DANE deployment to web services is not progressing is due to the problem of increased latency caused by DANE deployment. In this study, we investigated this latency issue. Specifically, we measured the page load time of web services by considering the presence or absence of DANE validation, the presence or absence of DNS cache, and the geographical location of the client, assuming the actual operation of DANE. We confirmed that the increase in latency due to DANE validation occurs when DNS cache is disabled, and that the latency is shortened when DNS cache is enabled. | |
