We are working on a technique to create choral sound sources by mixing singing sound sources recorded at different places and times, and call this technique remote chorus. Compared to chorus performed on stage, remote chorus has the problem of lacking a sense of unity. In this study, we propose a method of decomposing the signal using a unique sparse representation and selecting components using component selection algorithms. The aim of this method is to make the harmonic structure clearer while allowing all singing sources to contribute to the final work of the chorus.
The simple additive power comparison method and the peak-neighborhood adoption method were proposed as candidates for the component selection algorithm. The effectiveness of these methods was demonstrated by evaluating them in terms of three indices: amount of information, entropy, and narrow-band norm fluctuation. |
