Variability analysis of football passing networks before or after a goal

(in English) In this study, we created passing networks where players are nodes and paths as edges from J1 League football match data to clarify how the nature of the networks changes before or after a goal. We obtained 100 passing networks per team on average in a match. By dividing these networks into two before and after a goal, we measured the network characteristics of each team when the equilibrium of the game was broken. The results show that many teams increase the size and the number of edges of the path networks after a goal, which suggests that they switch their strategies not to be taken a goal. On the other hand, we find that when a goal is taken by the opponent, they switch to aggressive styles by decreasing the networks.
