[Technology Exhibit] An SDR based 5G base station equipment to streamline R&D of next generation wireless communication technology

(in English) Active research and development efforts are underway for various functional extensions and novel wireless communication schemes based on the 5G standard specifications, in anticipation of the launch of 6G wireless communication system services in 2030. An essential phase in this research involves modifying the foundational 5G wireless communication system to establish an experimental environment for new functionalities and methods. The effectiveness of these modifications is then verified through demonstration tests.
During this exhibition, we will elucidate the practical operation of the base station device, which is equipped with OpenAirInterface—an open-source software implementation of 5G. It functions as a complete 5G base station. The demonstration will showcase the actual operation of the device, along with the procedures for utilizing it as a research and development tool. Additionally, we will present various processes that can be implemented during the device's actual operation. The exhibition will cover the procedures for utilizing the device as a research and development tool, as well as diverse performance measurement data obtained during its operational use.
