Recently, antennas for mobile stations and base stations are required to have a wideband antenna due to the diversification and increase in speed of communication and broadcasting systems. These antennas are required to have small diameter and compact characteristics to deal with space limitations and wind pressure. In addition, it is important to be omnidirectional in the horizontal plane and to use polarization diversity technology because the propagation characteristics change due to changes in the attitude of the moving object and the effects of weather conditions. Conventional orthogonal polarization sharing methods have large antenna element heights. This is because each polarization element is aligned vertically in the upper and lower directions. In this paper, we study a wideband and compact orthogonally polarized omnidirectional antenna by inserting a vertically polarized element inside a Halo antenna loaded with parasitic element. |
