This study proposes a novel cross-dipole type rectenna array that utilizes the lead wires of two LEDs and rectifying diodes as half-wavelength dipole antennas for horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. The 10 rectenna elements are arranged with a spacing of 15 mm, and the wireless power transmission efficiency is evaluated for each rectenna acting as a receiving element. Results reveal that without the arrayed rectennas between the transmitting and receiving elements, the wireless power transmission efficiency gradually decreases as the distance between them increases. However, with the rectennas arranged in an array, the wireless power transmission efficiency remains nearly constant even with an increased distance between the transmitting and receiving elements. Furthermore, experiments using leaked waves from a microwave oven, with a distance of 150 mm from the wave source to the most distant element, demonstrate the ability to simultaneously illuminate 20 LEDs. Additionally, successful activation of LEDs on rectennas located 150 mm away from the wave source is achieved when using the array of cross-dipole type rectennas for radio waves generated by Wi-Fi tethering mode. |
