A Beamforming Antenna using Analog Phase Shifter for 5.7GHz RF Wireless Power Transfer System

(in English) This paper persents an attempt to realize a beamforming antenna using a reflective phase shifter for 5.7GHz wireless power transfer system. After prototyping a power divider, the phase shifter, and an antenna using an FR-4 and confirming their individual operations, we will complie them as a phased array antenna and evaluate amount of beam steering. Our prototype a Wilkinson splitter yields $2[si{dB}]$ more attennation of the transmission coefficient than the ideal value. We employ a varactor using $ang{90}$hybrid in the phase shifter. The goal was to secure a phase shift of $ang{135}$ toward steering the beam direction of the phased array antenna by $pmang{45}$, but the amount of phase shift change is realized only $ang{46}$. At this point, the maximum amount of steering that could be achieved by $pmang{15}$. We designed a 4-element rectangular microstrip array antenna and confirmed that it was less than $-10[si{dB}]$ in the $5.7si{GHz}$ band. A phased array antenna was created by combining these devices. The radiation pattern was measured by applying the imposed voltage to each varactors to obtain the desired amount of phase shift, which was confirmed when measuring the phase shifter alone. As a result, the expected radiation pattern was not obtained. The cause is considered to be the effect of combining elements.
