To achieve ultra-high-capacity wireless communication in B5G and 6G, it is essential not only to enhance access links between user terminals and base stations but also to expand backhaul connections connecting the core network. In addition to wired solutions, there is a great expectation for capacity expansion using wireless technology to reduce installation
costs. Orbital angular momentum (OAM) utilizes signals with different orbital angular momenta to become orthogonal to each other, enabling the simultaneous transmission of multiple mode signals on the same frequency. It has gained attention both domestically and internationally as a promising candidate technology for future wireless backhaul. In this presentation, we will explain the unique properties of OAM that enable mode multiplexing and introduce our research eorts to improve the performance of OAM multiplexing. |
