Propagation Measurement between Outdoor Base Stations and Houses to Improve Indoor Radio Wave Environment

(in English) In recent years, insulation structures using metal materials have been adopted in homes to achieve high thermal insulation performance, but there are concerns that this will affect wireless communication between outdoor base stations and indoor mobile terminals. Insulating materials that allow radio waves to pass through and have a permittivity constant close to that of air can be installed anywhere in your home. It is expected that the radio wave environment in the home will be improved by forming a radio wave transmission area using radio wave transmission material at an appropriate location on the wall of the house. Therefore, it is important to understand the propagation environment from outdoor base stations to residential areas. In this paper, the result of an analysis of radio wave propagation around a house using actual measurement results from an area tester and ray-tracing simulation results is reported.
