Study of keyword-based search method for IoT devices deployed at important facilities

(in English) IoT devices are increasingly deployed in various systems, including remote monitoring systems.Some of these IoT devices are operated in a state where third parties can access them with information such as the deployed location.We have developed a method to extract IoT devices with the same WebUI by clustering based on HTML similarity and have found many IoT devices used for monitoring critical facilities in Japan and overseas.In this paper, we study keyword-based search as a new search method to explore IoT devices that cannot be discovered by clustering.Specifically, five keywords were generated from strings used in the WebUI of IoT devices discovered in the search by clustering and searched using Censys.As a result, we found 117,754 IoT devices in 48 models, which were not found in the search by clustering. Among them, 195 devices in 26 models are considered to be used in critical facilities.
