Optical transport networks require high reliability and availability since they are important infrastructure for carrying large amounts of traffic. To realize more reliable optical transport networks, anomalies in optical transmission systems need to be quickly located and identified. In a previous study, we proposed a method for locating temporary optical power anomalies and evaluated the effectiveness of the method in a point-to-point transmission system. Our proposed method utilizes only optical signal quality data from receiver-side transponder without quality data from relay points. In this paper, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in an experimental setup constructed using the same system as commercially deployed optical transmission systems to realize integration into commercial optical networks. |
