[Invited Talk] 8K ultra-high definition video handling system using a high bandwidth, low latency real-time processing platform

(in English) Advances in high-capacity optical transmission technology have made it possible to conduct various experiments using 400 and 100 Gbps high-speed networks on a nationwide scale. In this study, we introduce real-time video processing technologies on the edge and cloud that we have been working on for 8K ultrahigh-definition uncompressed videos. To enable real-time processing of video data exceeding 10 Gbps using software only, we developed a video processing function known as the virtualized video-handling function (VVF) using the data plane development kit (DPDK) and single instruction/multiple data (SIMD) parallel instructions. In addition, this study introduces a demonstration experiment in which VVFs were freely combined using SRv6-based service-chaining technology to realize an 8K live video workflow online using 400 Gbps-capable edge devices.
