Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A monitoring system using a small device and sensors has been developed and operated to monitor over the lives of elderly people living alone by their families. To prevent false responses due to strong ambient light from the sun, light sensors for monitoring indoor lighting conditions require nervous sensitivity adjustment. This study aimed to develop an artificial light sensor that is robust to changes in ambient light and can be easily adjusted for sensitivity. The sensitivity to ambient light can be easily adjusted by using a low-pass filter circuit and light-shielding films. Artificial light was detected by identifying the peak frequency component of the light waveform, which was found to be 120 Hz. This method provides stable detection of artificial light without requiring subtle sensitivity adjustments, representing an improvement over previous studies.
