This research presents the design of a microstrip patch array for 5G mobile communications that uses I-shaped slots in the patch. The proposed antenna has multi band operation capability. The first band has a bandwidth of 3.8 GHz and operates between 31.3 GHz and 35.1 GHz with a notable return loss of −44 dB. The second band has a bandwidth of 0.7 GHz and operates between 42.2 GHz and 42.9 GHz. Copper (lossy) is used for two patch elements in the proposed antenna. Also composed of copper (lossy) is the ground plane. There, FR4 is the substrate that was utilized. |
