PPP-B2b augmentation messages broadcast from positioning satellite BeiDou

(in English) China's BeiDou positioning satellite not only broadcasts positioning signals, but also broadcasts augmentation messages to improve positioning accuracy. This augmentation messages are broadcast from the 3rd generation BeiDou geostationary orbit satellites and can be received even in Japan. In this report, a commercially available receiver is used to receive this augmentation message, and the characteristics of the augmentation messages is presented. The PPP-B2b messages provided augmentation information to the BeiDou and GPS satellites. The amount of satellite orbit correction for GPS by the PPP-B2b message and that of other augmentation messages showed almost the same value. On the other hand, the PPP-B2b message was found to be mainly targeted at BeiDou satellites, as some information about GPS satellites was not included.
