Study on Miniaturization of High-Efficiency and High-Gain Microwave Amplifier for DC-RF Conversion in SSPS Power Transmitter

(in English) In the planned Space Solar Power System (SSPS), high-efficiency microwave power amplifiers are expected to be used for high-efficiency DC/RF conversion to convert DC power from solar power generation to microwave power. The microwave power amplifiers are required to have not only high efficiency performance but also high gain characteristics to reduce the impact of the front-end system power consumption on the efficiency. In addition, the microwave power amplifier is required to be compact because a huge number of amplifiers are arranged in a two-dimensional configuration. This report describes the results of a study on miniaturization of inter-stage matching circuits in a multi-stage design for high gain.
