In mobile communications, evaluating the communication capacity of MU-MIMO transmission, where
multiple terminals simultaneously use the same frequency, requires considering realistic conditions such as threedimensional spatial propagation and the correlation between antenna elements at the base station. As a fundamental
study, we evaluated the communication capacity of MU-MIMO transmission under realistic conditions within a
single cell. When applying MU-MIMO transmission to cellular systems, it is essential to consider interference from
multiple surrounding cells. This is particularly challenging because multiple terminals communicate simultaneously
in each cell, making inter-cell interference a significant issue, thereby highlighting the importance of suppression
technologies. In this paper, we first evaluate the communication capacity of MU-MIMO transmission in cellular
systems, taking into account realistic conditions such as three-dimensional spatial propagation and the correlation
between antenna elements at the base station, while considering multiple surrounding cells. Subsequently, we
propose MU-MIMO transmission methods to suppress inter-cell interference and demonstrate their effectiveness. |
