(in English) A handover method with ground base stations using drones as mobile radio stations enables flexible network construction. The drone always switches/selects the most appropriate ground base station as it moves, thereby expanding the communication area and eliminating blind zones.
In this study, we consider a handover method that takes into account multipath interference caused by obstacles, based on the assumption that a drone, which is a mobile radio station, is equipped with a directional beam antenna and estimates the direction of arrival of signals from a ground base station. Based on the optimal handover timing method of our previous study,
we report on the throughput characteristics of the handover scheme in the case of multiple simultaneous connections.
