The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) classifies bananas into seven stages, from green ripe fruit to optimal fresh eating. The USDA classifies bananas as Stage 6 when the entire fruit is yellow, and Stage 7 when the fruit is all yellow with brown spots (called sugar spots). In this paper, we propose a method for estimating the optimal timing of banana eating based on the percentage of sugar spots, and demonstrate the effectiveness of the method through experiments. |
