Development of Human Back Exposure System Using Patch Array Antenna

(in English) In the international guidelines/standard, the whole-body average specific absorption rate (WBASAR [W/kg]) is used as a metric to protect against excessive core temperature rise for whole-body exposure. However, there is limited research available on human thermal perception thresholds, and more research on exposure has been required. In this study, we developed an exposure system targeting the human back at 2 GHz to investigate the thermophysiological response on the human skin. We also computed the power distribution, the skin temperature rise on the human back, and body core temperature rise. For the power distribution, we evaluated the validity of computational results by comparison with the measured data.
