Because the human body has a complex shape, there are multiple reflection points on the surface when measuring a person using a radar system, and thus, it is important to select the appropriate echo for vital sign measurement. Although the echo with the largest power is selected for signal processing in conventional methods, it is still an open question whether the method is the best in terms of the accuracy in estimating heart rate. In this study, we propose a method for accurate estimation of heartbeat by selecting echoes considering not only their power but also their phase shift due to heartbeat components, and the performance of the proposed method is evaluated through experiments. |
