Interference Canceler Circuit Configuration for Rx Caused by Tx Power Amplifier using Vector Modulator

(in English) In this paper, we propose a circuit configuration that uses a vector modulator to cancel interference signals from the Tx power amplifier to the Rx. The interference noise output from the Tx power amplifier in the demonstration experiment was verified at the output level including digital pre-distortion (DPD) using a commercially available product manufactured by Analog Devices. It uses an asymmetric Doherty amplifier using a T-shaped stub, and has a maximum drain efficiency of 66.8% on a saturated output power of 48.1 dBm, and a drain efficiency of 45.7% on 8.6 dB output backoff (Pout=39.5 dBm) at a fundamental frequency of 950 MHz were obtained, respectively. In the canceller test, the modulated signal output level of the final stage amplifier of the Tx was 38.8 dBm with a center frequency of 950 MHz and a bandwidth of 10 MHz. In addition, the drain efficiency of the amplifier was 50.2%, and the EVM with DPD was 2.85%. Compared to the case without canceller, we can cancel up to 20.6 dB of noise at the Rx system frequency of 905 MHz. We also confirmed that the EVM of the received signal could be improved by 25.4% (8.23 dB) by 41.5% without correction and by 16.1% with correction.
