The use of mobile communication networks is expanding. However, when natural disasters damage communication equipment, service disruptions can occur and many users can not use the network. When such disasters happen, it is possible to use alternative routes such as LPWA networks or satellite communication networks. This study proposes a resilient network for Beyond 5G that leverages Open RAN (O-RAN) to maintain connectivity during failures between the core network and remote hosts. However, random allocation of existing flows to alternative routes can result in a degradation of QoS. Therefore, we propose a traffic steering method based on the requirements of applications used by user equipment. This method effectively utilizes available alternative routes to alleviate QoS degradation. We evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed system using simulations. The results demonstrated that the proposed method helps in maintaining the QoS. |
