In general, physical layer security in wiretap channels requires that the channel of the eavesdropper is degraded relative to that of the legitimate receiver. However, this condition is not always satisfied in real environments. Moreover, in the case of passive eavesdroppers, it is difficult for the legitimate users to know the corresponding channel information. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a novel physical layer security scheme based on the adaptive design of dynamic frozen bit values and indices in polar-coded OFDM systems, where only the channel for the legitimate receiver is required at the transmitter and receiver. Through computer simulations, we demonstrate that the proposed approach enables secure communication exclusively for the legitimate receiver in terms of error rate performance, even when the channel information of the eavesdropper is unknown and the SNR difference between the eavesdropper and the legitimate receiver is small. |
