Flick input PIN code authentication combined blink and gaze manipulation

(in English) In this paper, we propose a flick-in PIN code authentication system that combines eye-blink and gaze manipulation.
The system uses a gaze detection sensor (Tobii Pro Nano), which is robust to lighting conditions, for contactless and trace-free
authentication. The user blinks within a specific area on the screen, aligns his/her gaze once at the center of the screen each
time the screen switches, and then enters the PIN code by moving his/her gaze in the center, top, bottom, left, or right. This
two-factor authentication of eye gaze and blink improves resistance to unauthorized use, such as shoulder hack attacks. To
verify the usefulness of this system, we conducted a rectangular division limit experiment of the screen area and a system
evaluation experiment using a Tobii Pro Nano and a PC (14 inches) in the experimental environment. The results of the
rectangle division limit experiment showed that the limit was 6 × 6 (36 divisions). In the authentication experiment, we
evaluated the system with and without gaze feedback, and found that the average speed and accuracy were 16.05 seconds and
85 ％, respectively, with gaze feedback, and 15.15 seconds and 92.5 ％, respectively, without gaze feedback. These results
demonstrate the effectiveness of this system.
