(in English) IT professionals' ethics is becoming increasingly important today. I have conducted a survey on professionalism and professional ethics among IT professionals in Japan. The results show that IT professionals have a high level of self-awareness as professionals. There is no formal organization for Japanese IT professionals as a whole, and therefore no code of ethics. Regarding professional ethics, more than 60% of respondents follow some kind of code of ethics, which was established by the company they work for or by themselves etc. The hacker ethic is rather unsupported today, but information sharing is considered a good thing to do.
