Performance Evaluation of Meteor Burst Communications using Polar Coded Retransmission Control Packets

(in English) In our previous study, we have proposed to apply the Polar coding for the retransmission control packets in meteor burst communication(MBC) protocols. By using the known information for the receiving stations as the frozen bits in polar coding, it has been shown that the polar coded retransmission control packets yields significant improvement in error rate characteristic without increasing the packet length. However, the overall performance of the protocol including the probe and data packets reception has not investigated there. In this paper, we thus study the overall performance of the protocol for the MBC system developing in our laboratory. Numerical analysis and computer simulations are conducted to evaluate the throughput performance. Comparing to the conventional one, the protocol using the polar coded retransmission control packets shows significant improvement in efficiency of data transmission in MBC scenarios.
