Series-connected patch array antenna based on classical filter technique

(in English) It is not easy to design a weighted configuration for a series-connected patch array antenna. We attempted to represent an array antenna using an equivalent circuit based on the Q factor commonly used in filter design. As a result, we found that this approach can also be applied to the individual design of antenna elements, and can also be used for the design of low sidelobe antenna. This design was attempted on an end-fed, 24 GHz, 41-element array antenna. The calculated and experimental results show good agreement with each other.
