The measurement of tri-dimensional radiation pattern of consumer DBS receiving antenna

(in English) To evaluate the impact of interference from communication systems using non-geostationary satellites (non-GSOs) on 12 GHz BS broadcasting, the radiation patterns of BS/CS receiving antenna commercially available in Japan were measured. Since the non-GSO system consists of many small satellites with orbits at different inclination angles, the directions of arrival from non-GSO as viewed from the BS receiving antenna are all directions in the upper hemisphere above the earth's surface. In this paper, we report the results of radiation pattern measurements on eight cut planes of every 22.5 degrees centered on the boresight direction of a commercial BS receiving antenna.
