Mobile Network Service Micropayment through Blockchain Tokens and State Channels

(in English) In the current mobile service model, carriers have great control on their plan details and pricing, but they also have responsibility to provide great coverage and service. On the other hand, users often must choose between a few monthly plans. To better match the needs of carrier and user, a blockchain-based payment model is introduced. Through domestic roaming and dynamic pricing, carriers can cooperate in countryside coverage, and set different fees for different locations depending on cost of construction and crowdedness. For users, together with pay-on-use pricing, enabled by blockchain micropayment, they have more options including easily using different carriers and no more monthly plans. We performed benchmarks and simulations, and through using state channels, this model was found to be feasible.
