Implementation and evaluation of real-time phase modulation using MATLAB

(in English) We are investigating the effects of auditory stimuli on the acoustic parameters of vocalizations. The fundamental frequency of the vocalization shows compensatory behavior under the application of fundamental frequency-modulated auditory stimuli. A harmonizer, a musical effector, is commonly used to apply frequency modulation to the fed-back speech sounds. However, a harmonizer cannot precisely control the frequency modulation trajectory, which is crucial for investigating the involuntary voice response to the modulation. We introduce a method for conducting such precise control, using MATLAB-based real-time processing with a pseudo-random test signal, which is systematically designed. The test tools and tutorials will be open-sourced.
