[Invited Talk] Aerial Image Display Technology for Achieving a Cyber-Real Intersecting Space

(in English) By displaying digital information made in computers more freely in everyday real space, we expect to realize new intersecting spaces in which cyberspace and real space are more strongly linked. For example, we could allow users to obtain information regardless of their information literacy and realize virtual agents that live with us. One of the technologies that can realize such intersecting spaces is aerial image display technology, which displays images in space without the presence of display devices such as displays or screens. Aerial images have the advantage that they can be viewed simultaneously by
multiple people without the need for wearing equipment such as 3D glasses or HMDs (Head Mounted Displays), making them suitable for use cases in which digital information is naturally integrated into everyday life. This paper introduces the research on aerial image display systems the authors are working on.
