This paper presents an innovative rerouting approach for multiple link failures, using directed spanning trees and MPLS technology for enhanced resilience. Our solution, implemented on PICA-8 switches with the Ryu controller, constructs optimized directed spanning trees through ILP and heuristic methods, reducing the number of required flow configurations
compared to OSPF. Experimental results show a 38.96% decrease in initial flow configuration and up to 60.38% reduction during multiple link failures. This approach ensures swift recovery without additional hardware, efficiently responding to network failures, and reduces required memory and traffic in the control plane. |
