One protocol that is gaining attention in IoT systems is MQTT, which is lightweight, has a Pub/Sub model, and is loosely coupled. The ability to handle heterogeneous data is critical to support a variety of applications and inter-sensor coordination, but existing research has not fully considered it. Some applications use large data, such as high-quality image data, while others use small data, such as temperature data, at short intervals. In this study, we investigated the effects on Broker and Subscriber when handling such hetero data. As a result, we found that the latency between the Publisher and the Subscriber increases when handling hetero data. In order to suppress the latency increase, we distributed the load between Publishers and Brokers by using distributed Brokers. We considered load balancing indices in creating the balancing method. |
