State Estimation of Programming Students based on Facial Expression Recognition

(in English) This study proposes a method to estimate the internal state of programming learners based on their facial expression recognition and PC operations, and to detect when assistance is required.Preliminary experimental results on six subjects suggest that, cumulative movements of brow landmarks and vertical nods, and Action-Units related to eye landmarks and lip tightening may contribute to estimate the degree for support.In the future, we aim to construct a highly accurate support system by integrating more diverse data and optimizing the model.
