Fundamental studies on Reconfigurable Reflectarray Antenna for Independent Control of Polarization

(in English) This paper proposes a reflectarray capable of independently controlling the beams of horizontal and vertical polarizations. By arraying strip-shaped reflective elements that are orthogonal to each other and incorporating a structure that assumes the ON/OFF operation of PIN diodes in each element, the beams of horizontal and vertical polarizations can be independently controlled. We designed a 9-wavelength-square reflectarray operating at 29.3 GHz and confirmed that the beam directions of horizontal and vertical polarization can be independently controlled within an angular range of ±40degree from the front of the reflectarray.
