This paper proposes a human-body ranging method based on Time-Of-Flight(TOF) using Single-Input Single-Out put (SISO) Wi-Fi radar. Device-free human positioning technology using Wi-Fi is currently attracting attention, however, Wi-Fi installed in an IoT device tends to be equipped with a single-antenna, which cannot enjoy the spatial degrees of freedom. Therefore, we consider a TOF calculation method using the subcarrier-domain Channel State Information (CSI) provided by Wi-Fi’s Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal. However, phase errors due to asynchrony between independent transmitter and receiver become a problem and is difficult to remove. The proposed method extracts the micro-Doppler components corresponding to the biological activities, only using the amplitude information of the CSI, and the phase information of the human-body reflection component in the CSI is recovered from the observed information only. The numerical analysis result shows that the ranging error at 75 percentile is 0.3 m in the proposed method, which shows the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
