[Poster Presentation] Two-dimensional Beamforming by Simulated Annealing

(in English) Beyond5G and 6G are considering using higher frequency bands than the current mobile communication systems. Since radio waves in the high frequency band have a large propagation loss, it is effective to install a large-scale array antenna on the base station side and expand the service area by the effect of beamforming gain. The authors proposed a method to determine the amount of phase shift by applying simulated annealing to a large-scale linear array antenna in which each antenna element has a switched-line type phase shifter. Since we have previously investigated one-dimensional beamforming using a linear array, in this report we consider applying the proposed method to a planar array antenna. Through numerical examples, it is shown that multiple beams can be formed two-dimensionally by simulated annealing.
