[Poster Presentation] A study on estimation of iron weight percentage in oil using distance of reflection cofficient

(in English) Sensing technology that utilizes changes in antenna characteristics when objects are present near the antenna is being investigated. In this paper, we focus on a specific application of this technique, which is the detection of the iron weight percentage in oil. We investigated the use of the DRC (Distance of Reflection Coefficient), which had been employed in previous studies, as a detection index. We confirmed its characteristics by the FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) method. As a result, we confirmed that using DRC improved detection sensitivity within the frequency band near the antenna’s resonance frequency as the iron weight percentage increased. This behavior demonstrates an example of a suitable detection index. Furthermore, this characteristic was verified experimentally. The results show a similar trend to the analysis results obtained by the FDTD method, confirming the effectiveness of the DRC as a metric for detection in this sensing method.
