[Poster Presentation] Design and Analysis of Microstrip Antenna with Electrically Activated Split-Ring Slot for Switchable Circular Polarization

(in English) This paper proposes a simple circular-polarization (CP) switchable microstrip patch antenna design. Reported CP switchable antennas require a large number of diodes and choke components. Therefore, the proposed antenna aims to streamline these design components using a patch loaded with an electrically activated split-ring slot and a center via hole. This configuration allows the antenna to advance for switching operation while maintaining the patch compact. The impact of thesplit-ring slot is analyzed and presented in detail for the target CP characteristics. This work was originally presented in the 77th Joint Conference of Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineers in Kyushu.
