Due to the rapid increase in data traffic in recent years, high-speed optical switches are in demand for optical communications in data centers. Wavelength-routing optical switch requires high-speed tunable lasers capable of switching wavelengths within 5 ns. While a reflection-type transversal filter (RTF) laser enables wavelength switching within 1 ns using the electro-optic effect, it generates spurious frequencies during the switching process, which can lead to data capacity limitations and communication delays. To mitigate this issue, we propose optical injection locking. Experimental results demonstrate successful suppression of spurious frequencies and frequency switching time of 0.7 ns. |
