Research on technology for automatic correction of sensor installation direction

(in English) In the future, Japan is expected to face a shortage of engineers and an increase in medical and nursing care costs due to the country's aging population and declining birthrate. In addition, the increase in natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons is expected to increase the cost of maintaining the social environment, and an efficient social infrastructure management system is needed. In order to reduce investment and maintenance costs of social infrastructure management systems, we have been studying low-cost and highly accurate technologies for monitoring social infrastructure, especially road conditions, during natural disasters and normal conditions. In this paper, we report on the effectiveness of our proposed technology for automatic position correction of self-contained IoT sensor modules, which have power supply, sensing, automatic position correction, and data transfer functions, verified through numerical calculations and experiments.
