In preparation for Beyond 5G/6G, research is advancing on wireless communications in environments beyond land, such as the sky, space, and underwater. Underwater, sound travels at about 1/200,000 the speed of radio waves on land and varies with water depth, with waves also affecting transmission. These factors create an environment distinct from land-based radio communications.
The Bell-hop model, a widely used underwater acoustic communications (UWAC) simulator, accounts for factors like sound velocity changes with depth, wave surface variations, sound dispersion, Doppler effects, and various vehicle movement. Using this model, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) combined with blind adaptive array for highly efficient UWAC. |
