Energy-Saving Method Using Traffic Prediction with Optical-Wireless Cooperative Control for Radio Access Network

(in English) To achieve carbon neutrality, we need to reduce power consumption while meeting strict performance requirements in the 6G mobile network. In the power saving of the network, the energy saving of the radio access network is important from the viewpoint of the current power consumption. In particular, the power consumption of distributed unit (DU) needs to be reduced because of an increase in signal processing along with an increase in the number of antennas. In this paper, we report the outline of the energy saving method that aggregates the low-traffic DUs, puts the unused DUs to sleep, and improves the energy saving effect by setting the maximum traffic amount of the DU as the sleep threshold by utilizing the traffic prediction.
