Recognizing Pet In-Home Behavior Using Relative Positional Relationship between Skeleton and Object

(in English) In recent years, more and more people need pets such as cats or dogs because of the outbreak of a new type of coronavirus, the aging of society, and the shift to nuclear families. In response to this increase in demand, services and products for behavior and health management of pets have been expanded. However, existing services and products have problems such as the need to install devices for individual pets or the inability to sufficiently estimate pet behavior. Therefore, we propose a scalable method for estimating the in-home behavior of pets by utilizing the relative positional relationship between the pet’s skeleton and objects obtained from video input. In this study, we increased the success rate of object detection by varying the training data, and successfully detected and stored the pet’s behavior using the relative positional relationship between the object detection result from the video input and the pet’s skeleton estimation result.
