Comparison of Indoor Positioning Accuracy Using Wi-Fi FTM Based on the Number of Access Points

Wi-Fi FTM (Fine Timing Measurement) is a distance measurement function that determines the location of a station (terminal) using three or more access points based on the principle of triangulation. While high-density installation of access points is expected to improve positioning accuracy, the extent of this improvement relative to the number of access points remains unclear. In this study, we compare positioning accuracy with the number of access points set to 3, 4, 6, and 8. Additionally, we investigate the effect of different arrangements of access points at the same count on positioning accuracy, aiming to clarify the relationship between the number of access points, their arrangement, and the resulting positioning accuracy. |
