Common-mode Noise Canceller for GaN Traction Inverter

(in English) Voltage source PWM inverters include neutral potential variations in the output AC voltage. In addition, traction inverters with fast-switching GaN-HEMTs generate a significant common-mode current noise that interferes with an on-vehicle electronics system. In order to attenuate this noise, a passive common-mode canceller (PCC) has been proposed to reduce the inverter CM voltage fluctuation instead of choke coils. In this study, the conducted and radiated noise of a GaN inverter with a built-in PCC were measured and compared to those with a choke coil to verify that the PCC is effective in reducing the common-mode noise.
