This paper proposes an optimization method for MU-MIMO systems using antenna directivity derivation based
on spherical mode expansion according to the propagation environments . In MU-MIMO, maximizing channel capacity while
minimizing interference between multiple users is crucial. Conventional antenna design methods rely on antenna structure and
placement, requiring iterative adjustments considering the actual propagation environment during the design process. In contrast,
the proposed method analytically derives optimal directivity for each user by applying spherical mode expansion, eliminating
the need for iterative searches and enabling optimal performance independent of antenna configuration. In this paper, we assume
a hybrid beamforming configuration, where the optimal directivity derived for multiple users is combined with conventional
digital beamforming methods. The effectiveness of this approach is validated through numerical calculations comparing it with
conventional methods such as Zero Forcing (ZF) and Block Diagonalization (BD),demonstrating superior performance in terms
of channel capacity. |
