A Method for Generating Contrast-Enhanced CT from Non-Contrast Chest CT Using a Slice Splitting Technique

(in English) Recent advancements in artificial intelligence have fostered active research on Computed Tomography image generation using generative models. However, many studies focus primarily on model performance, with limited consideration given to the structural characteristics of CT images used for training. In this study, we note that chest CT images encompass not only thoracic information but also cervical and abdominal regions. We propose a method that automatically segments the Z-axis slices of chest CT images into three regions-upper, middle, and lower-and builds individual generative models for each. By integrating these outputs, our approach generates Contrast-Enhanced CT images, demonstrating improved accuracy over traditional whole-chest models on the same dataset.
